mr. and mrs. chastain: part 5

after our reception under the trees,
the bridal party headed over to a beautiful park about 5 minutes from the church, to take some fun photos.

bryce and the ladies!
the bottom right photo is of bryce and his beautiful sisters. they are so fabulous and i'm so blessed to be able to be a part of their family!

and now, the handsome groomsmen!
they were such good sports for rockin the bowties.
the best part of being the bride is no one says no.
:)
i think they just look so handsome.

and of course, there were jumping photos.
duh.

i made sure to get one on ones with my sweet sweet bridesmaids:
one cousin, two new sisters, and three fantastic sister-friends.
every girl needs true heart friends like these ladies.

and of course, there's a brothers shot:
they are quite the studs gentlemen.
they helped with so many projects and were so patient with me as wedding detail discussions pretty much dominated family conversations for the majority of the year.
sorry bout that.
you're the best,
and i hope you know i love you bunches! :)

and of course,
bride and groom shots.
the high five is my favorite.

all photos were taken by Jana at bella bee photography.
the wedding was coordinated by Rhonda at precisely as planned.

o those photo memories.

i'm putting together a photo slideshow for an upcoming engagement party
[an engagement party,
because we're engaged!!!!
eeeek!!!!]
the fun part about projects like this is that it forces you to look back and find all of those humiliating photo memories, the ones you hoped and prayed just disappeared into that abyss where all humiliating memories belong.

ya, i found a few of those.
i love these photos though.
they are true representations of the beginnings of bryce and me.
oooooo those beginnings.

[[try not to be blown away by our cuteness k??]]

and back to the digging i go. :)

just feeding the turtles

note to self....
if it's 106 degrees outside,
and you're miserably hot and sweaty,
the ducks probably are too.

and try not to take it too personally when they start swimming away at lightening speed to avoid the bread crumb projectiles you're tossing at their little bodies.

[not gonna lie, i was a little hurt they weren't more enthusiastic about the whole thing...]

[action shot, check out that form!]

such a cutie-turtle-feedin-patootie :)

at least we tried. :)

thank you to my baby brother grant for having lots of left over bread from his eagle scout project,
and thank you to the turtles for saving my brusied ego and eating the soggy bread.

so very kind of you both.

embrace the camera! march 17, 2011 :)

ok world, watch out.
i'm officially in the march madness game.
i'm hoping i'll start feeling the madness pretty soon:
the hives, the fever, the jitters, all those things that come along with watching more basketball than any normal human could ever possibly need to watch in their entire lifetime.

i haven't seen bryce this excited in a long time,
and it's quite cute.
he's got the bracket-makin down, the research, the predictions, the multiple drafts.

and then there's me.
o ya, my bracket is bound to go down in history.
i picked every single possible underdog there was.
[that "ooooo sarah..." feeling you've got going on right now is the same thing bryce said to me when he saw my picks.]

we're embracing the madness!!

embrace the camera! march 10, 2011

yesterday i was blessed with a day off from work and a visit from my brother!
it was such a great and beauuuutiful day!
grayson is home from tenessee on spring break, and he was kind enough to make the trip down to houston to visit his sister! :)

we went to canes,
we went to the ZOO and saw the most adorable baby giraffe!
we saw cranes, and flamingos,
and a red panda, and fighting rhinos...

[these aren't real rhinos, but they look just the same!]

this is grayson hanging out with an american alligator.

if you squint with your magnifying glass, you can see the baby giraffe sitting down on the ground next to the two grown up giraffes. just a baby, only 7 feet tall....ahh!

and, of course, we saw the elephants.
how stinking cool is that?

when i was walking around yesterday, looking at the monkeys, and birds, and frogs, and fish, and snakes,
[yes, i walked through the snake exhibit,,,,,,eeeek!!]
i was so blown away with how creative our Savior is.
who else would be able to come up with so many different types of so many different animals?
and how gracious he is for sharing his creation with us.
he's a pretty great God.

p.s. you should check out grayson's tumbler, andddddddd watch this super awesome video of him.
he's a pretty talented guy.
i taught him everything he knows. :)

you know you wanna! :)

embrace the camera! march 3, 2011

i've decided to follow in the footsteps of my favorite blogger and
[[[embrace the camera!]]]

meet my lovely friend stephanie.
we've been through a lot.  and we've taken a lot of pictures.
but i will have to say, the sequence of photos we took on that lazy Saturday morning last fall has to be my favorite.
who cares if we both had homework piled up and hours of studying lurking in the corner,
there was fun to be had and fish to be imitated.

o, and did i mention those bad guys we had to fight??
watch out boys, we know self defense.

pretty sure i couldn't imagine my life without this beautiful little crime fighter.
we make quite the duo.

Here are the rules [via the anderson crew]
so, are you ready to embrace the camera?
here's the nitty gritty:
1.  take a picture with you and your kids/spouse/family member/friend/whatever.
2.  blog about that picture and include a link to our blog, or grab our button.
3.  link your blog post up on mr. linky below.
4.  visit the other embracers...give each other lots of compliments about how good we look with our greasy hair and sweatpants velour jogging suits on.  cause yah, we need a little boost when it's been days since our last shower.
5.  have fun!
