high five for friday: weekly wrap up

favorite exercise
another week of pure barre,,,,owned! :)
this week was pretty rough,
not gonna lie.
but i just keep giving myself little pep talks between sets and pray i make it through. one day at a time...

favorite radio station
thursday, i discovered olympics sports radio.
i can't believe i've gone the entire olympics without knowing about it.
i feel like i've missed out on so much.
better late than never right??

favorite bub-hub quote:
the bub-hub's wise words of the week-
"never get on 610....ever."
if you live anywhere near houston,
you should definitely agree.
if you're ever late for a meeting...like i was on thursday...just tell them traffic was terrible, and they will understand 100% and forgive immediately. ugh.

favorite piece of mail
last week, bub-hub and i became advocare distributors!
we have been using the products for years and are super excited about becoming more involved with the company.
i can't wait to share more details with you guys soon! so keep an eye out! :)

my not-so-favorite thing
my favorite pair of work-pumps died this week.
i know they were only from target,
and i know they were over 5 years old,
but they were super comfy.
they've been needing to go for a while,
but it took a one inch long hole that appeared on the top of my right shoe for me to go through with tossing them.
you will be missed.

how was your week??
link up with posts below and share your favorite highs and lows! :)

it's friday!! :)

today is a fabulous day.
not only is it friday,
but last night, gabby douglass won the gold for the women's all round
[woohoo!],
soni broke her own world record
[holla!!],
and i get to see my family today
[yay!]!!
bub-hub and i are making the roadtrip up I-45 to the beautiful big-D,
and i am pumped!
we're pretty lucky to be from the same home town.
it makes trips back home twice as nice.

with so much to look forward to this weekend,
i had to find little things to distract me while i waited for the long days to pass.
luckily,
a few fantastic things happened this week.

1. super encouraging mid-day dove dark chocolate messages.
i usually rip into the chocolate too fast to make out the message,
but i've tried to practice self control and slow it down a bit.
trying to slow down seems to be a running theme in my life...hmm...coincidence??

2. fabulous, booty-busting workouts at pure barre.
i've just finished up my first month and i'm officially hooked.

3. my nectarine suffered a major injury in my lunch box.
poor thing didn't stand a chance being stuffed in a bag with an extra pair of shoes, notebooks and laptop.
what a tough [and super juicy!] little guy.

4. i've been downing chobani like a champ.
i'm designating myself a chobani gold medalist.
watch out phelps, i'm coming for you.

5. this week, my music selections have been all over the place.
have you ever just put your ipod on shuffle and let it go?
i was way embarassed by what i had on there.
as a side note,
on wednesday, i hear the usher song "scream" 6 times between driving to pure barre, during pure barre, and driving home from pure barre. 6 times people.
i love the song,
but really.
give pit bull a chance.

o so pinteresting: olympic edition!

first of all,
the olympics are destroying my sleeping habits.
by the time the prime time games are over,
and i've watched all the wrap up videos,
and read all the back stories online,
i'm too excited to sleep.
and now that i've figured out our cable provided has live streaming on the internet,
i'm doomed.
second of all,
when traffic is at a complete stand still for 30 minutes,
and a janitors protest is blocking the street entrance to my parking garage,
i think it's a sign that i don't need to go to work that day.
pretty obvious that i should go back home and watch the olympics.

third of all....it's a beautiful, pinteresting wednesday! :)

if i had the body of an olympian....

yummmmm!

hehehehe....this just cracked me up.

i have a feeling a lot of girls will be posting more olympic themed pins, so check them out on today's link up at the vintage apple! :)

woohooo olympics party!

what's better than the opening ceremonies of the olympics??
dressing up, eating yummy snacks and watching them with friends of course! :)

 yes there was an invitation...

and a chalkboard welcome sign! :)

we had the opening ceremonies on, and set up kinect sports, but really, let's be real.
isn't it all about the food??

let's break down this snack situation:

what do you think of my janky oreo pops??
i'll be the first to admit that i am not a "pretty" baker.
i've tried to make cakeballs dozens of times,
and while they taste yummy,
they look absolutely terrible.
i think i am using the wrong type of chocolate coating...it takes forever to set and drips everywhere and is just a disaster.
any suggestions??

i filled mine with mini turkey pepperonis, cheese, sauce, and red and yellow bell peppers.
i may or may not have eaten an entire tray full.
p.s. you can find wonton wrappers in the produce section next to the tofu.
duh.

this was so yummy and tasted just like the real thing.
next time, i'll probably add strawberries to the mix.
horray for using wedding gifts! :)

a party isn't a party with out salsa and guac!
do you guys have HEB grocery stores?
they have the best spicy guac on the planet.
i may or may not have eaten 1/2 a carton of guac for lunch saturday.
i'll never tell.

don't judge.

of course there were decorations!
bryce and i found the blue sparkly ring and usa stars in the clearance section at target.
definitely great planning to have the olympics fall a few weeks after the fourth of july.

watch out feddy....the real competition is coming your way! :)

loving the chastain women!

not quite to par with hostess with the mostess, but a step in the right direction! :)

p.s. after 2 months with my new iphone,
i realized that the plastic shield was still on my phone...which is why all of my iphone photos have been turning out so terribly.
 sooo smooth....
i'm seeing non-grainy, well lit photos in my future.

yay for friday!!!

i am so glad friday is finally here.
this week has been exceptionally terrible or rough, i just love friday.

dear bub-hub,
thanks for helping me decorate for the olympic's opening ceremonies. :) and i'm sorry i'm not sorry in advance for commendeering the tv for the next two weeks.
you're the best!
dear lion king and ladies night,
you were fabulous. just what i needed to push me over the mid-week hump.
my friend alison and i went to see the lion king at the hobby center downtown on wednesday night.
it was pretty much the most fantastic thing i've ever seen.
i was exhausted watching the dancers jump and prance and dance around like animals.
if i had 1/4 of the energy they had...man, that would be fantastic.

dear macaroni and trees,
way to be fabulous. :)
rachel ray would be proud.

you are so fantastic, but so heartbreaking at the same time.
i love my tory burch inspired wrap bracelet.
and everything else you post on auction night.
have you heard of accessory auction??
be carefuly ladies...don't say i didn't warn you. :)

dear pure barre....you're kicking my booty and i love it!!
three weeks down, and i can feel the changes.
[if only i could kick my sweet-tooth...]
plus, how adorable are these bathroom signs....

dear opening ceremonies,
you're going to be fabulous. i'm so glad the olympics are finally here!
linking up with friday's letters and high five for friday.
holla!

peppy prints on a monday

the olympics countdown is officially in the single digits.
yayyyy!!
i was almost late to work because i was watching the special segments on the olympic athletes on the today show.
darn real life getting in the way of my favorite things.

i've been excited about the olympics for weeks and watching all of the olympic trials and special behind the scenes coverage and reading all of the insider blogs.
obsessed much?
what can i say, i wanna be an insider.
and i wanna be best friends with an olympian.
and i wanna hang these prints up in my apartment.

i think these prints are so fun.
definitely getting me in the mood!

high five it's friday!!!!

dear friday, you're hot, you're humid, and you're fantastic. i'm so glad you're here. please be sunny and fun of tanning rays. :)
[if this were my iPhone, i'd be inserting my sun and my pink polka-dot bikini emoji right about....here!]

dear raisin bran, you're such a fabulous treat for any time of day, but especially dinner.  i don't know what it is, but cereal for dinner is fantastic. maybe because it's like i'm breaking all the rules. i'm a cereal-rebel. lock up your kids folks. i've got a spoon and i'm on the loose.

dear olympics, i'm so glad you're finally getting close! gymnastic trials started last night, and women's trials start today. my favorite! :) i can't wait to watch all of the talented girls on the telly  while i sit on the couch eating a brownie and thinking to myself...man i wish i was athletically gifted.

dear random shuffleboard opponents at howdy happy hour, i warned you that i'm a terrible competitor. i told you i had never played before.  i wasn't joking. but thanks for pretending to be disappointed when the game ended so quickly after i gave you the win.

dear world, i'm officially a chastain now. two hours of standing in line with lots of strangers at the social security office paid off.   next week, i'm going to conquer DPS. bring it.

dear houston, watch out. my bestie is comin to town, and we've got some fun to have!

how was your week?
and fun friday letters to share??
